Case study: from idea to live product
  1. Problem. Defined the user and pain with a fact-checked "5 Whys" and a competitor scan before building anything.
  2. Build. Prototyped quickly, then moved to a full codebase built with Claude Code: React front end, Supabase for sign-in and server functions, OpenAI models for the coaching.
  3. Trust. Rebuilt storage so personal content lives on the user's device, scrubbed contact details before AI, and wrote rules so the AI never invents facts about the candidate.
  4. Operate. Custom domain on Cloudflare, branded email, invite-only beta with phone alerts, cost limits, and an hourly automated health check.
  5. Listen. Changed question mix and feedback flow based on tester input.
  6. Learned. Good AI products start with the boring parts: clean inputs, clear rules, and a human who checks the output. And privacy is a choice you make on day one, not a setting you add later.

About

An accountant who ships

I'm a CPA with more than 18 years in accounting, from staff accountant to controller and director roles. My world has been the month-end close, internal controls, audits, consolidations, and building teams that work across countries and time zones.

I've always been the person who automates the repetitive part: reports, trackers, templates. Generative AI turned that habit into something bigger. In 2026 I completed two Outskill AI programs and launched my first AI product, now used by beta testers.

What I care about: finance-grade rigor (controls, accuracy, privacy) in AI products, and explaining technology in plain language.
